June 2009 (Etobicoke, ON) — The Crease is proud to announce that Dan Stewart will be joining our staff at The Crease for the 2009-2010 hockey season.
Dan has a wealth of goalie coaching experience, both in the U.S. and Canada. He is a former OPJHL, OHL, and CIS goalie, and worked alongside Dave Dolecki from 1993-2004 at various locations throughout the summer months.
During the winter months, Dan owned and operated the Connecticut Crease Elite Goalie Training Center, while Dave owned and operated The Crease in Etobicoke. For more information on the Connecticut Crease, please visit www.ctcrease.com.
Dan has trained more than 15 goalies playing at the NCAA division 1 College level, including 6 who will be playing next season. Dan also trains the 5th-ranked North American goalie for the upcoming NHL draft, Alex Vazzano. In June 2009, Alex will be the first CT Crease goalie to be drafted into the NHL.
Dan is returning to the GTA, and is looking forward to working with Dave, senior goalie instructor Bujar Amidovski, and the rest of the team at the Crease.
"Dave and I have stayed in regular touch since we first met at 16," Dan says. "We played against one another, worked many camps together, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with him on a full-time basis."
"Dave and Bujar have developed a phenomenal number of goalies," Dan adds. "I'm looking forward to helping the Crease continue that process."
For his part, Dave is also looking forward to having Dan join the Crease team:
