For the past 18 months, THE CREASE GOALTENDING ACADEMY, our team and Farrell Duclair have been doing the groundwork for a very special school that would provide foundational training and long-term development for students who are serious about pursuing high academic standards and elite level competition. It's been a long and dedicated journey, and we are finally ready!
This September, we are opening our doors to Everest Academy — Canada's first JK to Grade 12 specialized school for student-athletes. Our goal is to provide a unique environment where discipline, respect, and hard work will propel students to the highest levels of athletic competition while ensuring a strong academic foundation for post-secondary success.
Everest Academy is pleased to officially announce its partnership with The Pavilion. This collaboration between The Pavilion (Canada's largest privately owned fitness centre) and Everest Academy (Canada's first JK-Gr.12 specialized school for student-athletes) will provide student-athletes with a world-class environment. "Environment is everything", says founder Farell Duclair. "We are creating a positive and unique environment where discipline, respect, and hard work will enable students to achieve remarkable excellence as scholars, athletes, and people. Our partnership with The Pavilion makes it possible for us to provide student-athletes with a first-class program, the very best opportunity and resources available in Canada."
The Pavilion is an impressive facility. Located at 130 Racco Parkway in Thornhill Ontario, this $40 million, 150,000 square feet facility boasts all the amenities a student-athlete would want. Students at Everest Academy will have access to over 25,000 sq/ft of strength and conditioning equipment, yoga studios, NBA size basketball court, 2 NHL size ice rinks, squash and Racquet ball courts, 3 outdoor soccer fields, 4 baseball diamonds, 2 full size salt water based pools, Sauna, hot tub, and steam rooms.
With state-of-the-art facilities, and professional sports directors (Jules Jardine - hockey, Dave Dolecki and Bujar Amidovski - hockey goaltending, Sonia Shewchuck - figure skating) Everest Academy will provide a truly unique program for Canadian student-athletes .
In September, Everest Academy will offer hockey, figure skating, tennis, golf, track, swimming, and an all sport program. In 2011, the sports programs will expand to lacrosse, soccer, and baseball. Our platform is designed for the long-term development and success of the individual student-athletes.
This project is a team effort. Dedicated educators, coaches, technology experts, and investors have made this dream a reality.
